No...I'm not blogging about what costume i've choosen to wear to a Halloween party....no parties for me....but anyways,...Happy Halloween to all!

Just a little history lesson about Halloween....

Halloween goes way back to an ancient Celtic festival called Samhain. The Celts celebrated their new year on Nov 1, which marked the end of summer and harvest, and the beginning of winter, a time often associated with death.

The Celts believed that on the night before the new year, the worlds of the dead and living merged, and the ghosts of the dead would return to earth. (Very much like the Chinese Hungry Ghost Festival). So on the night of Oct 31, they would wear costumes and build huge bonfires to burn crops and animals as sacrifices to Celtic deities.

By the 800s, Christianity's influence had spread to Celtic lands. In the seventh century, the Pope designated Nov 1 as All Saints' Day to honour saints and martyrs. It was also called All-hallows or All-hallowmas (in Middle English). Oct 31, the night before, began to be known as All-hallows Eve, and eventually, Halloween.

And that's why I'm going to church tomorrow for All Saint's Day mass...hah!

A Random Entry

Miss my foodie pictures?......i've just got some from last weekend's dinner....can't afford to go round taste nice food at the moment....coz im experiencing the most crucial moment now....yah!...EXAMS!!!....

Quite comfortable setting.....with pictures of Vietnamese farmers ploughing their fields....the restaurant is located near Dhoby Ghuat MRT the NEL line...so it's convenient...and waitresses wear traditional Vietnamese wear....though the waitress that serve me can't really speak english clearly but she was really helpful...Hey!....i should get paid for promoting so many makan haunts man!....

Starter dish Vietnamese pancake with pork and prawns stuff inside as fillings, Vietnamese Chicken Curry, Kang Kong with 'fu yu', Fried salted pork ribs

The starter dish comes with a transparent skin (like the chinese popiah skin) to wrap the fillings inside and also together with the veggies and carrot....on the whole every dish was just alrite except for the pork ribs was like super HARD like stone!!!...eat till my tooth nearly fly out man!...haha im not joking....

Don't be mistooken....this is not what i meant by a long blog entry k....not yet time....till after my exams perhaps....

More than Just Tired

I juz had a mild warm shower....blogging now while Gabbie takes his....

After monday's exam, went back to work...rushing to the sickening GST report to be submitted by the end of the month which is this coming monday (and im on leave)....so no choice gotta rush the whole damn week....been stayin in the office till late in the night....yah it's good coz i can collect more OT hours but not at the wrong timing....din even get to touch my notes for my next paper not to even tok abt practice the past year papers.....i really hope i can pull it thru man....gotta go back to office to finish off...and i hope that's it....no mistakes no amendments....im juz tired....tired tired tired tired tired....

Im also feeling too tired to type somemore...but im too tired....

My exams are not even over and my frenz are asking to go holidays alreadi....where in the world do i find the mood to discuss about going on a holiday in my present situation....Don't even have leave to go with it....i would be happy if i could get away stay in some resort or hotel even if it's within the boundary of little singapore....i don't mind....im a simple person....just to get away from work....get away from my books....Oh no!!....i cannot think of that now....my books are the most important to me right now....nothing can compares to them....though im super duper dead tired over work....i will still squeeze out the energy within me to study....Yes!...I can do it!!....

Actually i still got lots to tell but my back is aching now....gotta go sleep....

As i stretched my hand into the mail box today like any other days, i grabbed hold of a grey envelope and saw my name written on it...so i wondered what was inside and who could that be?...so as i made my way upstairs i was analysing the handwritting....and "she" came across my mind as the memory of her handwritting flashed in my head...

After reaching home, i then realised that the envelope was without a stamp so i got excited so check out what was inside.....after opening it nicely with a mail opener....i was overwhelmed with what i saw...

Ta Dah!!!....a surprise from my "bf" cum "twin sister" cum "partner in crime" bud wendy...


It was a card...."To a Special Friend" card...was so touched and my heart pumped so hard with joy....and together with the card was a packet of something....when i opened it up was a pair of handmade earrings bought online...its name is Secret Garden.....oh i love it so much....den i remembered one day in the office when she sent me a website and was asking which design of earrings is nice...thought she wanted to get them as she's the buy-stuff-online queen....she loves to buy things online....save the trouble to shop she claimed....so i chose this earrings whose name was "Secret Garden"....din expect that she would get it for me....was so touched....what's more is that there was a card which she wrote loads of encouraging stuff knowing i was so stressed with work and school....it was really a great encouragement todae!!....gave me the morale and booster to strive hard....thought back in poly days she used to help me a lot in my school work and now we are in a totally separate study environment....still treasure her lots...

What's more, yesterday got a call from my boss...she called to deliver me good news so i could study better she claims...she told me she's giving me a pay increment coz she finds that i did my job well....was really a good news for me...but still....study stress still pile on me...

Anyway, two pleasant surprise in two days....what more can i ask for?....i am contented...

Messed Up Tots

First Thought:

Was reading one of Xiaxue's latest entry about the handicapped...to some extend i actually do agree to some of her points....if the handicapped facilities are only strictly to the use of the handicapped then they should at least have a sign there to let people know right? (but as Singaporeans do, they usually don't follow instructions or signs) so even putting the signs up would serve no purpose..it would be a never ending point to talk about as there would be a whole lot of different opinions to it....

And after reading the comments....sometimes it's not too good to have your blog so commercialised that it's like everyone-is-reading it...it defeats the purpose of having your own freedom of speech and comments...after all it's your own blog, your own world....some people can be so mean with their comments that they do not think of the feelings of the writer...for goodness sake there's a saying that goes "To each his own"...

Second Thought:

I cannot understand what has got into my mum that she gets so paranoid over the washing of my stuff whenever I'm having the time of the month....sort of getting overly superstitious over bad luck and stuff...insisting that i do my own chores whenever my time of the month...does it makes any difference when im not having the time of the month then?...it's the modern society we are having here....give me a break man...plus im like having so much of mental stress lately over work and my studies...like I've been saying the whole year thru...24 hours a days is incredibly not enough for me....i need more time more time...

Third Thought:

My dad bought bird nest and a whole lot of essence of chicken drink for me which includes some chinese herbs...those with the horrible taste....even gorbbling down the normal chicken essence is giving me a hard time already...what's more to the additional herbs added in...Oh my god!!....when my dad show me all the stuff he bought me i guessed he would expect me to jump for joy and give him a big kiss but all i could react was to give a faint smile and i still insisted that i dun like the chicken essence with the "extra boost" thingy....think he was kinda sad that i reacted that way...but i couldn't help it.....im too tired to be overjoy...though i dun mind the best nest..hiak....

Food Time:


Everyone had a serving of the Murshroom Soup...however, Gabbie just got his full of black pepper....haah...guess wat?...coz the bottle of pepper was passed on by Raymond and smart alec Raymond thought the pepper bottle was the turning type and he happy turn turn turn...then when Gab shake the pepper out...Wala...all came out...it should be named Black Pepper Murshroom Soup..haha

We had promotion items of scallops and mussels....yum yum...

Sass Up

Ooooooo!!!...it's been a tiring and fruitless week for me...as i count the days nearer to my exams my heart races faster than it could beat....but what more can i do being the have-sense-of-urgency-but-still-no-mood to study me....

But anyways....chilled out yesterday to celebrate Kimberly's belated birthday...walked aimlessly around the fountain of wealth...then we came by this new restaurant "Turf n Surf" if i can remember....the food was good and price reasonable...then we went down to marina square for The 40 yr old virgin...it's really a funny movie....i laughed my head off....if you are looking for laughs...this is a highly recommended movie to catch...i give 4 out of 5 pop corns..



And today was just study and study and study....but kind of didn't do much too...Help!!!!!!

FED UP is the WORD

I am so fed up because:

1. The stupid Real player on blog can't be played on my computer (which is a new com)

2. I tried to uninstall the whole real program and reinstall it again...but the website seemed to be blocked by my norton internet security and i restarted my computer for like 5 times in a row

3. As i usually depend on my computer to listen to the radio, i lost my choice to listen to Class 95's love songs (which need real player in order to listen) so i decided to turn to Power98 which uses media player...However, when i typed in Power98's website...the web page turns out to be some other sites

4. My blogger dashboard becomes funny looking which i don't know why

the dashboard is not supposed to be like this.....sometimes computer can really get on my NERVES....and i just don't want to got anything to do with the computer....

5. Gabbie's MSN got hacked this afternoon...and the stupid idiotic hacker used Gabbie's username to sign in...he MSN me and messaged me a whole lot of crap...he really nothing else better to do....now i recall and remembered when gabbie was in Thailand he also messaged me....and i pissed off but didn't realised it was hacked...Whoever that person is...he is really utterly nothing better to do and really childish....if he tries to sign in using other people's ID gonna report him to the POLICE!!!

A thought just came to my mind again...it had actually came and went away a few months ago...but it came back again....

My dream car (at least for now)...dream small now...hiak...

Prices for cars have dropped tremendously....but i think i still don't have what is take to 'look after' this big baby....yet.....but i hope soon i can...

i am slow again

after a week of sleepless nights....therefore my reflex is a bit slow...blogging take a slow turn...haha...
